Confidence – I read advice columns. It’s a guilty pleasure.
Conviction – Some of the letters are faked. Either by the column’s authors or by pranksters.
Concrete – The last letter in this column is faked. I wrote it.
Confound – The "Native American" was originally "Indian". If it’d been left alone it would have made Grandmaw look even sillier.
UPDATE: Comments on the letter.

When Mala Fide dotcom got blogified last year’s All Hallow’s story wasn’t reposted. The story was to be rewritten it because it didn’t turn out the way I wanted. I’d been inspired by the couple of J-horror films that I’d seen and was going for that effect. It wasn’t rewritten ‘cos I’m lazy. We’ll count it as a miss.
It’s been retroactively posted.
And there’ll be no spooky story this year. ‘Cos I’m lazy.
