Kiva

Kiva is a person-to-person micro-lending website. Members make small loans to the working poor around the world. It’s not a charity in the usual sense, but if you subscribe to the “teach a man to fish” school of thought it’s a great way to get your philanthrope on. So join, already.

One may loan solo, but there are lending teams. I’m a member of the Atheists, Agnostics, Skeptics, Freethinkers, Secular Humanists and the Non-Religious lending team. If you’re non-religious, please join us.

Yes, I’m feeling all right. It’ll be back to the dark side and cookies next post.

The Dork Side

If you’ve got a shtick, you’ve gotta shtick to it.

Remember the 20th century (Gregorian)? We were such dorks back then.

Remember cyberpunk? We were such dorks back then.

Remember analog television? We were such dorks back then.

Remember CB radio? We were such dorks back then.

Remember yellow pages? We were such dorks back then. (Thanks Thundarr!)

Remember when Eddie Murphy was funny? We were such dorks back then.

Remember telnet? We were such dorks back then.

Remember when We Were The World ™? We were such dorks back then.

Remember Sarah Palin? We were such dorks back then.

Remember civil public debate? We were such dorks back then.

Remember when Evil Ray didn’t have a vapid, pointless blog? He’s still a dork.

Wolves don’t cry

From Wikiquote's Latin Phrases.

Ulula cum lupis, cum quibus esse cupis. – "Who keeps company with wolves, will learn to howl."

"Hey there, Little Red Riding Hood, you sure are looking good…"

The Unfact™ of the Month

The Unfact™ is, to the best of our knowledge, completely false and unsupportable. We are not responsible for any consequences that are bound to occur if you are silly enough to believe it.

The Treaty of Saint-Florent, which made New Orleans part of the United States, will expire in 2012. Unless renewed, ownership of the city will revert to Corsica.

Il est vrai … pour autant que vous savez.
