In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Lt.-Col. John McCrae (1872 – 1918)

Today is Towel Day and Geek Pride Day. They’re on the same day? What are the odds?

In which I recycle

Since I have nothing ready for this week, here’s an old, clothing-optional post.

31 MAY – 01 JUN 03

Nude – One is unclothed for artistic or philosophical reasons.

"Presentation of the male and female figures in their entirety and completeness needs no apology."

Naked – One is unclothed for activities that are difficult to perform clothed (e.g., bathing) or in the midst of changing clothing.

"I had just stepped out of shower and gone to the laundry room for a towel when the bounty hunters burst in."

Nekkid – One is unclothed and up to no good.

"Me an’ Jimmy Earl seen ’em runnin’ nekkid through the woods."

Volleyball, anyone?

"Dropo, you are the laziest man on Mars." – Kimar

Twenty years

Sometimes it’s an old scar, sometimes it’s a fresh wound, but we always miss her and love her still.
