Mozilla would be a great web browser even if it wasn’t free. Based on Netscape’s Gecko, it features tabs (which allow the viewing of several pages in a single window), themes (which change the look and feel of the program), and it blocks pop-up windows without additional software. And did I mention that it blocks pop-ups without additional software?

Like a lot of open source software, it’s always in development and is occasionally buggy, but it’s very robust and well-developed. If you’re brave and cheap enough to use freeware, give Mozilla a try.

Update – The Mozilla Suite is still available but the standalone browser is now Firefox.

And "Mozilla" sounds really cool.
